龜遊魚躍出
吾亦愛吾池
池邊開一室
人魚雖異族
其樂歸於一
且與爾為徒
逍遙同過日
爾無羨滄海
蒲藻可委質
吾亦忘青雲
衡芽足容膝

本非蛟龍匹
假如雲雨來
祇是池中物

In April the pond's waters are full;
Turtles disport themselves, fish leap;
I delight in my pond
And have built a shelter beside it.
Although men and fish differ in species,
Their joys are alike.
So may you and I as friends
Pass our days in pleasure together.
Entrusting yourself to rush and reed,
You do not envy the vast ocean;
I, too, forget the green clouds,
Finding a thatched hut
Sufficient shelter for my limbs.
You and I are not
In the category of the flood-dragon.
Should cloud and tempest arrive,
Well, we are just natives of the pond.
